Dr. Alan Kestenbaum

Dr. Alan Kestenbaum is President of Professional Anesthesiologists of Greater New York, P.C. He completed his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering from Boston University, Magna Cum Laude, in 1980 and received his medical degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 1985. After completing his internship in general surgery and residency in anesthesiology at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, he completed his fellowship in Pain Management at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. In 1989, Dr. Kestenbaum began as an Instructor of Clinical Anesthesiology at The New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and was an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology when he departed in 2000 to enter private practice.  He was also the co-founder

of the Pain Management Center at New York Presbyterian Hospital and is the author of numerous articles and book chapters. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, has given many lectures at national meetings on Office-Based Anesthesia, and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology.


Dr. Edward Ament

Dr. Edward Ament is Vice President of Professional Anesthesiologists of Greater New York, P.C. He attended the State University of New York at Binghamton where he received a Bachelor of Science in Biology. He then received his Master of Science degree in Physiology from Georgetown University and his medical degree from Georgetown Univ. School of Medicine in 1993. He completed his residency training in anesthesiology at The New York Presbyterian Hospital-Cornell Medical Center in 1997.   He then worked as a Clinical  Instructor of Anesthesia at

the New York Presbyterian Hospital for several years before entering private practice. He's a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and a Diplomate of the American Board of Anesthesiology.
