Can I really do procedures in my office? Yes, we can advise you on how to set up your office for safe surgical and anesthesia practice. This process is really quite simple and we are available to help you at any time.
Who supplies the equipment? We supply any equipment you do not already have, such as oxygen, monitors, syringes and safety equipment.
Who are the anesthesiologists who would be coming to the office? We have a small number of board certified physicians in our practice, so you get to know each one of us personally. If you wish to request a particular physician, we will do our best to accommodate you.
What anesthesia techniques do you use in the office setting? We are experts in both intravenous sedation and general anesthesia techniques. The type of anesthesia we use is dependent upon the level
of office certification and the choice agreed upon by the surgeon and the anesthesiologist.
Do I need to buy or store any controlled substances? No. All controlled substances are supplied by the anesthesiologists unless certain regulations require the facility to do so.
How long does it take for patients to awaken after surgery? For short procedures, such as colonoscopies and cystoscopies, patients are generally awake within a few minutes after the procedure is completed and are ready to leave the office within 20 to 30 minutes. Patients can be easily moved to another room to complete their recovery as soon as they awaken in order to facilitate rapid room turnover.
Will I have a lot of anesthesia billing problems? No. In fact, since mostly all insurance companies now reimburse for anesthesia services in the office setting, billing problems are rare. Our billing professionals are always available to answer questions during office hours. Any special circumstances that arise with particular patients can be easily remedied. We are committed to preserving that special doctor-patient relationship that we know is vitally important. |
